Actually, I don't agree with the tittle. If you want to show off, just do it! Don't let anyone else tell what to do or who to be, and don't be ashamed to be who you are. It's YOUR life, not anyone else's. It's from Palma's song "Gender Blender".
And here's Adam Lambert in concert. Wow! I don't care for his music at all, but maybe I now will give the new album a listen (when it comes out).
Do you ever have this huge urge to just sew, knit, customize? To wander in second hand shops, buying old zippers & buttons? To organize your self-made granny squares in hundred differend ways? To sew the exat same outfit Boy George used while touring on early '82? To knit a sweater from a pattern you found from a 60s womens magazine? Do you?
I certainly do. Lats week I finished a sweater, a zipper-dress, some spats, tens of granny squares... Too bad I'm in the middle of a testweek here.
Yes! Nina, the mother of European punk! Or at least the mother of Continental Europe's punk, since the scene in the UK is different. If you Yankees don't know Nina - shame on you! Nina was born in 1955 in East-Berlin, Germany. She was a singer-songwriter in many little political bands, but in the year 1976 she left the country. She travelled to London and quickly got into the punk rock movement. Back in Germany, in West-Berlin, Nina formed the Nina Hagen Band - and the rest is history. She has then released 15 albums, and she still is highly respected. In the 80s she got very much into gothic rock, Hare Krishna, animal rights - her music isn't all punk anymore, but it's still awesome.
For me, Nina is one of the most inspiring people ever. Her style (both in music and in looks) has varied from angry punk to lovely new wave graziness, from gothic-y to this mystical hippie-krishna-indian thing. Her voice & songwriting is great. She's best friends with Lene Lovich. She supports PETA & the human rights. She just rocks, still at the age of 54.
These photos are not mine, I do NOT own them. I just post them for the inspiration. If you see a photo you don't want to be displayed here, contact me and I'll take it off. (well some of the photos are mine, feel free to use)
